blackberry test

Well now. After quite a long time off I am back in action — this time posting from my ohsolovely Blackberry Torch.

I don’t know what it is about BB’s. I just can’t get away from them. Evo 3G? Yeah, it was nice, the apps and display were amazing but even with the extended battery couldn’t last a full day with me. IPhone 4? It last about 36 hours (ownership, not battery life). Once again, great apps – greatest rival to android market – and the resolution was absolutely disgusting. But, for both of these phones, their battery just couldn’t make it a full day.
I also am no fan whatsoever of touchscreen-only phones. Having the keyboard – the BB keyboard – has proven to be, time and time again, the most efficient choice one can make. I use my phone for email and text, to a fanatical extent. I like a few handy utility apps, twitter and fb, and things like the weather channel. I have a computer for everything else.

I may not be able to get an app for every facet of my life, but I’m fine with that. Now the only question is will RIM be able to stay competitive and recapture their market share to remain relevant in the mobile industry?

This is the gist of what is spread all throughout the blogosphere.  It’s an utter disgrace that this actually made “news” and is being discussed whatsoever.

The above pic was first splashed across the frontpage of drudge a day or so ago, and still currently is.  I felt no need to check the video from which the picture was taken because I already knew it some just another candid snapshot being using as another sneaky, implicit, right-wing smear.  But Oh lordy!  This crap is still being talked about.  Whether is FOX and Friends with their usual upbeat, happy go-lucky attitude and snide comments towards anything left of the far right or MSNBC and media matters debating Sarkozy’s intentions through the waay too happy smirk and chuckle.

This is the point we’ve reached.  No sources are checked, no context is given and there is no low the people who report this mess

I’m at my grandparent’s home at the moment, I’ll reconvene on this topic when I’m back home.  I just need to stop writing about this, just talking about this has the chance to spread the cancer further.

Kidding.

I constantly find myself reading new material, hearing new talking points and wondering if something is true or not.  I don’t know what to directly believe these days because there is just so much damn opinion and not enough fact.  I don’t wish to debate opinion/fact philosophy at the moment but can anyone else agree.

Throughout my time that I was giving a damn in highschool I learned alot of things.  The only thing I truly question is my history classes.  It seems taking my college courses vs. public education I was taught nothing besides the principle of the US.  We won WWII, Korea happened, we don’t talk about Vietnam and Reagan’s eloquent/ballsy articulation shut down the USSR and ended the cold war.
I mean this is a sarcastic serious point because these were the principles my generation is taught.  Is it because teaching these talking points is easier?  or maybe because students are forced to learn so much in a little amount of time.  I remember my HS US History class now, it was civil war antecedent until present times.  All we were tested on is talking points, and reflecting on this now it infuriates me.  Nothing against my teacher (he was the best out of the lot – I had 3 teachers I liked, that’s it, the rest just wanted to argue and put their status above myself and not debate – I’ve always been a little shithead in one way or another ), but seriously, I was only taught the “what” of history and not the “why” or “how”.  Anyways, I’m getting sidetracked to what I wanted to originally post on..  Which I will be finishing tomorrow along with adding a “I’ve heard to much of… and to little of…” post about the ’08 election.

I had this nice little random thought blog all nicely done and I clicked publish.
I didn’t.
I don’t feel like rewriting the entire thing so here’s the gist.

I read a lot of junk on politics, current events, political theory, history and philosophy. MY arguments and views on a lot of things have changed throughout this process. But now I am starting to come back to my original ways before I did any of this. Strange this is..

I’m going back to watching the Aqua Teen movie on CN, I’ll have some real blogs this weekend.

LOOK ANOTHER LIBERAL ON A MAC – HOW FUCKING IRONIC!

Joining the rebelling to fight the dark side.. Or, there’s more than alt-tab?

By rebellion I mean mac, and dark side I mean Windows/PC. A few weeks ago I picked up a brand new MacBook from the mac store at twelve oaks mall in Novi, MI. Just entering the place was fun. Thirty or Forty people just messing around, completely O-faced and repeating my former favorite MMORPG acronym WoW! These things are truly amazing machines, and I will never go back to my old ways.

Examples

-Managing documents, using the spaces program I navigate in between my various notes for various classes with a simple hotkey. Instantly, my document switches windows/desktops, up to 16 of them, with a nice small interface in the middle of my screen to help me select which exactly I want to switch to. Which compared to Windows, isn’t a big deal, but its smoother and aesthetically nicer.

-Computer speed, its only 2.1ghz/120gb HD/1gb RAM, but damn, its faster then my old 3ghz 2gb RAM desktop, nothing lags, I can have multiple high memory programs – photoshop, dreamweaver and my mail client, while listening to iTunes radio stream runs perfect.

-OS/Interface, nothing compares. I’ve used Windows since, well, I don’t really remember, but it was the version or two before Windows95 and WoW! Not even Vista can touch this.

-Applications, amazing, simply amazing. Every program I need came preloaded (except my office suite) with their own version of anything I needed. Its search tool nearly memorizes your HD, finds everything instantly, and even picks up keywords and phrases out of documents, so if you can’t remember the filename, it finds it for you. No more searching for folders, all my apps are in one folder. No more useless I’ll never need to see – ya know those .dll and .sys files that clutter up tons of your folders? Or just anything that doesn’t pertain directly to you using the program? Yeah, their not there. I didn’t even use one of those “Mac for Dummies” books. Frankly, I don’t think anyone needs to if you have a stable broadband connection. Everything is self explanatory. Use the finder or spotlight to find things, iWhateveryouneedtodo to do whatever you need to do and the rest you can figure out. I searched for some keyboard shortcuts no in the users manual and thats all I really had trouble, actually not trouble, that is the only thing I couldn’t think of from using a PC. There’s more than alt-tab?-Complaints, nothing to do with it in general. On the web I am pissed there are not many torrents for macs, but thats really it. I paid for the word/excel programs by mac (pages/numbers) and snagged a sweet mouse and I’m happy. Oh wait, there isn’t a free wordpress compatible blogging application, yet. So, I’ll end up paying $17 for a third party program.
